Probably everyone in charge of employees considers himself a good employer, even if the employees might not see things that way at all. In the summer of 2007, however, LANXESS obtained corroboration in writing of its status as a first-rate employer worldwide. The international "Great Place to Work Institute" named LANXESS one of the 100 best employers in Brazil. The ranking is based on extensive employee and employer surveys which have now been carried out for the eleventh time on behalf of the institute and one of the most influential weekly periodicals in the country. In 2007, LANXESS took part in the competition for the first time, as the youngest candidate of them all, and now the company feels validated. "We are very proud to receive this recognition," said a delighted Marcelo Lacerda, the LANXESS director for Brazil. "It reflects our commitment to our employees, who are the driving force in this great company," he added during the presentation of the award.
