Investment in the Future

LANXESS promotes education in the natural sciences

Germany in 2020: One third of the population is over 60 and the tendency toward an aging society is increasing. In response, the economy is providing new products and services to meet the demands of the "silver consumer." In the light of this demographic change, human resource departments have had to rethink their approach. Companies need qualified employees to ensure growth and the creation of value. However, young and well-educated professionals are becoming increasingly hard to find.

LANXESS is already investing in the promotion of talented natural scientists. In addition to training its own staff, the Group is also dedicated to promoting education in schools and universities. With its far-reaching education initiative, the specialty chemical company wants to enable young people to enjoy a successful future, which in turn will strengthen Germany's economy. Exactly how students and companies can profit from this partnership is explained by the Project Manager, Dr. Silke Jansen, in an interview on the following page.
