What are your responsibilities at LANXESS Korea?
I am responsible for sales at LANXESS´s Business Unit Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) and supply a broad range of industrial chemicals to Korea’s major chemical companies. I am also in charge of procurement at LANXESS Korea.
You worked at a Korean company before joining LANXESS in 2012. Where do you see differences?
Before LANXESS, I worked at one of Korea’s typical large-sized company that focuses on international trading. For me the global production and R&D network at LANXESS helps me have macro-view on global market situation. In addition, exposure to multi-cultural environment is one of the benefits I enjoy at LANXESS as I get to work with colleagues from different countries and nations. More than anything, I like the fact that I can have work-life balance and can spend more time with my family than before.
What goals have you set yourself?
AII has secured its leading position in Korea for a long time, however, we have been facing fierce competition with local and Chinese players ever before. My goal with our team is to develop more new customers and secure our market share. Furthermore we already have a good business relationship with Korea’s major tire manufacturers with our rubber chemicals, and have been trying to expand businesses with other Korea’s top three leading tire manufacturers.
What do you do in your free time?
I spend most time with my 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son. When I can, I enjoy traveling with my family.
