When squares and streets need to look grand and festive, colour comes into play. Bayferrox iron oxide pigments by LANXESS often help put them in the right light.
When Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged their wedding vows in London, Bayferrox helped lend added shine and colour to the celebration. The streets and pavements leading to Buckingham Palace were given a fitting makeover in advance of the wedding. They were re-surfaced with Splittmastix tarmacs, needed to withstand the stress of millions of tourists and hundreds of thousands of vehicles. The expectations for the tarmac and colour quality were correspondingly high: The iron oxide red pigment Bayferrox® 130 C that was used is particularly colour stable. LANXESS was thus the only local supplier of pigment that was able to deliver the right shade in the required quality in a custom package. The Group operates a production site in Branston, in England.
